Shopkeeper firing on Assistant Commissioner in Karachi

 



KARACHI: A shopkeeper opened fire on an Assistant Commissioner (AC) in Karachi when he was going to his shop like a common citizen to check milk prices, Local News reported on Wednesday.


This incident took place in Sikandar Goth area of ​​Karachi. The AC received several complaints of profiteering against the owner of the milk shop. AC visited the milk shop alone like a common citizen.


On discovering the sale of milk at exorbitant prices, the AC asked the shopkeeper to provide the official price list, but his move angered the shopkeeper.



Later, the AC called the police and arrested the shopkeeper for profiteering. The shopkeeper immediately closed the shop to avoid arrest.


The police asked the shopkeeper to surrender but he opened fire on the AC. The assistant commissioner narrowly escaped being shot after lying on the floor. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the firing.


The police tried to arrest the shopkeeper, but the local residents fought with the officials and let the accused go.

 Who is Pervez Musharraf....? 



 General Pervez Musharraf is a retired general and former President of Pakistan. He served as President for a period of eleven years, from 1999 to 2008.


He was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on 29 July 1943. His family moved to Karachi when he was six years old; his father worked as an engineer at the Karachi Port Trust. He attended Forman Christian College in Lahore and received an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in 1965.


He went on to receive his master's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1969 and then returned to Pakistan where he joined the army as an officer cadet in 1973. He received his doctorate degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University in 1976 while serving as a battalion commander with the elite 11th Battalion of Pakistan Army's Northern Light Infantry Regiment (NLI).


In 1984, Musharraf helped organize what became known as Operation Cleanup, which resulted in the removal of Prime Minister Muhammad Khan Junejo from office by General Zia ul Haq's government via coup dictate after Junejo refused to resign following allegations that he had been involved with corruption during his tenure as prime minister
